Uganda: AAA Entrepreneurship Recognition
AAA members recognized among Uganda’s best entrepreneurs in 2015The AAA Uganda chapter is a membership organization which aims to stimulate entrepreneurship to increase food security. The chapter works with members in business clubs that are spread in within the four main regions of the country; North, West, East and Central. Within the country different organizations and the government recognize excelling entrepreneurs in various sectors. In 2014, the Dutch Embassy, KLM, DFCU Bank and New Vision group recognized Ms. Judith Bakirya of Busaino Fruits a member and also BC leader as the best agribusiness entrepreneur in the East.
In 2015, two AAA members were also recognized in the same competition. In order to become best in Uganda, it is beyond the profits made per acre but one must work sustainably and take care of the environment, the soil and be aware of climate change. Also hygiene on the farm counts, social impact, willingness to teach others as well as innovation and creativity. It was against the above criteria that saw our vibrant BC leader from the Western Mr. Nicholas Matisko 3rd best farming entrepreneur 2015 and also winner in South West Uganda. He owns High Mark dairy farm that was established in 2009 and is located in Kashari – Mbarara. Also in the same competition Mr. Robert Okodia owner of Aryodi Bee farm, based in Lira Northern Uganda was the third best in the category. He is involved in beekeeping, processing and selling honey and other hive products.
To climax the year were also the presidential awards where our very own AAA Uganda chairman and founding member Dr. Stephen Birungi was recognized among the visionaries of Uganda. This was in honor of the Alfsan Uganda Limited factory located in the Kampala Industrial and Business Park in Namanve Central Uganda. The factory will not only provide employment but also guarantee quality and affordable livestock drugs and other animal health products for Uganda and the region through local manufacturing.
AAA Uganda Chapter and Africa celebrate our members for the achievement and the exemplary work done towards the socio-economic transformation of Uganda.
