Youth to be trained in agribusiness activities

The African Agribusiness Academy a platform for entrepreneurs seeking to foster innovation and growth in small and medium scale farming firms in Africa, has launched a new initiative that will address the lack of interest amongst the youth in the agricultural sector.

Country Director, Charles Gitau said that the programme targets 1.500 youth in each of the three East African – Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. The training, he explained, involves introducing the youth to modern farming techniques, including technology, and teaching them to develop bankable business plans.
