Visit of the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Ms. Liliane Ploumen to Hillside Ltd.

Last Tuesday 29th of October Hillside played host to Ms. Lillianne Ploumen, Minister for Trade and Cooperation Netherlands who was on a mission to visit Netherland supported projects in Kenya, as well as leading a huge delegation of investors to Kenya.

 

During this visit the value of sharing information at AAA and what it results to was presented. Because of the AAA training Eunice Mwongera, owner of Hillside, got with writing AECF business plans, she was able to write a winning proposal to Solidaridad and won grant support of 15 million Kshs. To scale-up farming with smallholders. The grant is matched with company own funds equivalent of ten million. 

 

It is because of the progress reported so far some of which emanates from the ethics that we share train and treasure at AAA that the ambassador decided that Hillside is the choice of the company to be visited.

b) Contracting 8 farmers groups scheme (218) in addition to previous suppliers
c) Mitigating against brokers and agents who deprive farmers
d) Able to supply quality, mrl free and consistent smallholder produce to EU on a regular basis

f) Food security in the rural and eradication of poverty
h) Profiling of AAA members

This should inspire others in agribusiness and especially because we all work with small producers in our value chains.
